Implant Dentists in Calgary, Alberta

What is implant restoration?

An implant restoration is a three stage process, that fills a gap in your mouth by replacing a missing tooth. You won’t be missing anything by using the services at Beddington Dental. We pride ourselves in a cosmetic dentistry work. In our Calgary dental clinic our patients tell us our implant surgeries have allowed them to live a better quality of life.

What is the dental implant restoration process?

At Beddington dental, your first appointment after initial consultation, involves surgically anchoring implants into the jawbone below the gum line. The implant is a small titanium post acting like the root of a normal tooth. Healing is quick but synthesis within the bone takes time. After a period of 3-6 months, once it is determined the implant is fully integrated in the bone, we take a master impression of the implant in order to fabricate a custom-made dental crown. The final appointment attaches the crown or artificial tooth to those implants. After the implant has been placed, your gum and bone will continue to grow around it, ensuring that the implant stays firmly in place.

Will there be pain during the implant process?

An implant is easier than a tooth extraction. A simple local anaesthetic is used and you are awake during the surgery. If you’re nervous, you can ask any of our certified implant dentists in Calgary about sedative options to make you more comfortable. After the surgery, you may experience some discomfort and painkillers will be recommended. You can use an ice pack to reduce any swelling.

Beddington Dental provides you with care and comfort during and after your dental implant surgery. Our team of doctors are here to educate you on the process in beautiful Calgary, Alberta.
